2MB - What speeds does everyone get?
As I am considering getting NTL 2MB service, what are the average speeds that people are getting? Also how slow is it during peak times, and what is my download speed likely to be when using P2P?
For reference, I am in the NW London area, but everyone is welcome to send in their results, it helps to build an accurate picture!

The simple answer is......................... nothing guaranteed, your speeds will vary from time, application, source etc etc, best your looking at is 200 + kb/s.

1st 512K took 4156 ms = 123.2 KB/sec, approx 1015 Kbps, 0.99 Mbps
2nd 512K took 4328 ms = 118.3 KB/sec, approx 975 Kbps, 0.95 Mbps
3rd 512K took 4531 ms = 113 KB/sec, approx 931 Kbps, 0.91 Mbps
4th 512K took 4188 ms = 122.3 KB/sec, approx 1008 Kbps, 0.98 Mbps
Overall Average Speed = approx 982 Kbps, 0.96 Mbps
I am on a PACE box so until it claps out this is the best it gets.

It's a stand alone cable modem. It's especially for broadband. I am getting one installed on Monday. Using a Samsung set top box at the moment.
My speed is about 2mb at the moment. Has been for the last 3 days. Accoeding to the various speed sites.

I have a Sammy on 4mb, and consistently get 3900kbps down, 380kbps up

2nd 512K took 2157 ms = 237.4 KB/sec, approx 1956 Kbps, 1.91 Mbps
3rd 512K took 2156 ms = 237.5 KB/sec, approx 1957 Kbps, 1.91 Mbps
4th 512K took 2172 ms = 235.7 KB/sec, approx 1942 Kbps, 1.9 Mbps
Overall Average Speed = approx 1943 Kbps, 1.9 Mbps
That is my speed tonight. Not bad for this time of night.

hardly ever see under 2mb on mine except on sundays always ping around 100+ then think ntl wont me to go to church :P
