Re: 10mb Bristol Speed Issue

Hi

Comments are simple really ... read down the forum just couple posts down and see several similar stories ... wether a coincidence or not i cant say but it appears many peeps started having problems when the 20mb trials began so if connected or not im not sure.

Have you actually contacted CS to query the stats , possible there could be an error on the line somewhere & an engineer visit maybe needed

Sorry cant help much as im fairly new to cable myself so can only pass on the kind of info ive seen elsewhere .. i'm still the only posting cable user at News-Shack .. any volenteer experts would be welcome hint hint .. lol .. sorry wont pimp

hope you get a better answer soon but just so you dont feel neglected ive replied

Re: 10mb Bristol Speed Issue

Hi,

Okay just reported the issue to TW. During the day I can download at 1.1Mbs from gamefiles.blueyonder , this averaged down to 190k/s on the gtainstaller.zip file.

TW have acknologed a problem with UBR10 and are rectifying it, they claim outages or congestion issues do not last longer than 24 hours.

The tech support guy I spoke to is aware of cableforum and requested that any other users on UBR10 (Aztec) report this directly to Blueyonder Tech Support.

BTW. Lucky were not in BS15 - they don't have a BY connection atall at the moment.

Re: 10mb Bristol Speed Issue

Well I can see from both those traceroutes that your both on the same ubr - ubr 01 @ Aztec West - thus it extremely likely that there are ubr issues (congestion or the like). Dragon, your erratic speed test results also back this theory up.

I normally find that if my connection gets unbearably slow, a simple power cycle of the modem sorts it out.

Re: 10mb Bristol Speed Issue

Update on this - been working from home today and enjoying blazing speeds, downloads/streaming audio/voip all okay, bang 4:30pm comes and packet loss slowdowns, timeouts

I've given up talking to blueyonder support, especially when your talked through how to goto the start menu, click run and type c then type m then type d and press the enter key.

Thumbs up Re: 10mb Bristol Speed Issue

To any one in Yate, Bristol!!
If you are having slow speeds on an evening and weekends. ( To test please go to www.speedtest.net) If you are are getting no where near what you are paying for, Same as me and gavinlew, my brother, my dad.....and everyone else i know on TW BB in Yate!
Please phone customer support and place a Customer Complaint. From what the support guy said thats the only way we can get them to sort this problem. After many a call to support and they are not taking down notes on my account after they said they would! Ask for there name FIRST and scribble it down and dont let them go through the same crap as always..please type CMD in run etc etc!! Just say i want to make a complaint about the service and threaten either going to the lowest service or remove all the services. Hoping if enough of us complain they will do something!
Team Work will prevail... I hope !!
Good Luck!
Matt

Funky speed test site there, I've just run it and got speeds of 3910 down / 358 up, very respectable for a 4meg connection. I am in BS7 (Bristol), here is my traceroute, odd that some of you are also going through 62.30.64.35 and having problems with it:
