Well Done Channel 4 On Demand / NTL
Found 4OD last night under pick of the week, Well done, lots of programes available,Hope the BBC On demand improves to the same standard of programm avaiability. Just hope programmes re updated regularly and not as the bbc where it could take 4 days to see a programme you missed. Thanks to NTL for not announcing it then keeping us all waiting for 3 months.

Yep it's a good move. ntl:telewest did announce this yesterday morning. Oddly enough we even had a news story on it http://www.cableforum.co.uk/article/...r-ntl-telewest

Re: Well Done Channel 4 On Demand / NTL
Well done indeed NTL. The layout doesn't work all that well -- Telewest's method of being able to list all programmes alphabetically and by recording date seems a bit better -- but it's good that they're there.
Out of interest, does it list programmes that were on E4/More4, or just Channel 4? I haven't investigated enough to find out.
All we need now is a similar thing for ITV.... no, wait, there's nothing worth watching on ITV.

It's not before time, but cable TV is finally starting to regain its position as the superior form of digital TV.
The way it sat neglected for so many years after the DTV rollout was appalling.
Within the last few months I've gained - improved software on the boxes, better actual boxes, and the superb VOD facility.
I really believe ntl are "getting there" now. And I'm delighted about that.

Just channel 4 i'm afraid, Layout is rubbish, never liked the Alphabet layout, A-D etc. No adverts as well. Great

Re: Well Done Channel 4 On Demand / NTL
Nice to see more content being added to Pick Of The Week on VOD - its the one section of the new VOD I use a lot to catch up on stuff I've missed or didn't know about till I saw it in the menus.
Now that Channel 4oD has been added, I wonder how long it'll be before ITV and Five have the gumption to sign up with ntl:Telewest and add their stuff to the POTW and TV Hits section properly?
(I know there was some archive Darling Buds of May on there recently, but nothing much else from the two networks.)
VOD really is getting to the stage now of being close to that mythical "killer application" for cable TV if ntl:TW are prepared to keep on putting in the work getting up to date content to make it appealing to both existing and new customers.

I would just be happy once VOD is actually active in my town (Hemel Hempstead)

Same here, was promised for my area in the 'summer', guess its just something else that NTL can't get right.
I'm so looking forward to going back to Sky & BT

Re: Well Done Channel 4 On Demand / NTL
I watched a couple of programs from Channel 4 last night that I had missed during the week so I am really pleased it has been added.

Re: Well Done Channel 4 On Demand / NTL
Yes, it looks like NTL is finally getting its act together, and not before time. Up until 4oD went live I never bothered with VOD, apart from when it first went live, due to the sever lack of free content on there. The go live of 4oD has turned this around. All we need now is the BBC to start putting up more content on there. One more thing they could do would be to publish a guide or have an extra icon on the TV guide showing if a programme will be shown later on VOD. At the moment I won't risk not watching something and expecting it to be shown on VOD, only to find out it isn't.

If I was NTL, I would really be making a fuss about how VOD doesn't rely on a broadband connection like BT Vision, or Sky's future VOD solution.
That, and get some more US shows on there - nBSG, Stargate, Prison Break etc.
From what I've read, when the new Telewest-style EPG is released, NTL will be bringing their VOD pricing in line with Telewest, meaning (hopefully?) that all TV Hits content will be free to people on the Family Pack.
