Just google for comparisons between the D945 & the E6300 & you will come across stuff like this LINKY

Them benchmarks are are for the massively overclocked E6300 although the results are very good.Once you have the machine use everest to let us whow what ram is in there and then we can tell you how best to squeeze extra performance out of the machine.I have no doubt we will be able to get over the 2 gig on each core easily

This is true, but at also shows what the CPU is capable of as stock, the top 3 of all the graphs show OC chips, and the bottom 3 show stock.

Attached is a screenie of my E6600 overclocked and self tested on dual prime95 this is a 25% overclock.I have no reason to think the E6300 cpu will 2.2 on air (you may need to add a new heatsink.)but will easy reach (well as long as the cpu wasnt built monday morning or friday afternoon lol ) 2 gig + with stock cooler and a simple fsb hike.Gottas love the res on my new screen lol lol

ROFL YES I noted the fan speed and WTF
Didn't know the E6600 oc this good ! Even @ stock these are mighty good cpus...
Looking @ your screen lemmie get this straight :
You just upped the FSB from 266-> 333 with no changes to Vcore and multiplier (I asume the E6600 are multiplier locked ?)
Amazing oc.

Re: New PC
yeah there multiplier locked. I did raise the vcore .05 v. The cooler is very good and helps a lot lol
Ive had 3.7+ on a P4D 805 over a gig overclock theres a thread on here if you fancy a search
secret is i dropped the ram (667) to 533 the overclock to 3 gig then raises the ram back up to 667 so only the cpu is overclocked (on the E6600)

Re: New PC
This is why I don't go to computer fairs, I always end up buying stuff. Only popped in to buy a pc for my kids and ended up with a usb2 pci card for myself as well.
