Talking Just did it

Just signed up for NTL telephone & 10mb BB

I was with ntl then left about 7 months ago and signed up with bt it was a bad move for me noise on the line and bad broadband and bad customer service, Also i am on the edge of the exchange and the cables are really old etc,

I am now coming back to NTL so i can now have 10mb broadband again plus a good phone service,

They are sending a installer around on friday and it will be a easy job as the cable's are already there

If the cables that are there already are really old, then wont NTL replace them with new ones?

Re-read the original post; He left NTL to go to BT and their cables were old and he lives on the outer limit of the exchange

The idea of leaving ntl, then returning is a difficult concept to grasp. You must have had unimaginable problems with bt.

Good luck with your installation - I suspect we've not heard the last of this

Re: Just did it

Yep you have got it

I am a communications and broadcast engineer myself and currently working in broadcast and i am right on the edge of the bt exchange in my area and i know from contacts i have with bt that the cables where i am are from the 1950's and I am also on the end of NTL's network,

I am lucky that ntl put there network where i am as im on the side of a mountain and apart from 2 row's of houses there are no other houses here in front of my house is fields and sheep and behind my house is just mountains and farms etc and i know in my area this is the last place NTL is, As i live on the end of my town,

where my house is there is a lane and if i drive down the road i make my way back in to town and there is more houses and more etc the closer you get in to town,

I am not useing my bt broadband at the moment due to the dropouts i am useing my two-way V-SAT satellite internet which is very expensive every month,

The reson why NTL is in my little row of houses is when Cable tel was laying the cables in 1997 they was going to end the network about 200m down the road where it goes in to a lane and i spoke with the guys laying the cables at the time and there supervisior was there i asked him if they was going to cable up to my place they said no i said if you do i think the whole two row's would sign up and i said i would take two telephone lines myself as i need them for work and i am a com's engineer we spoke for a few min and he was happy to take the network up to my row
