Phone Prices
Just got a letter from NTL this morning on phone prices.
They say that they are going to reduce the prices of the phone plans but don't give details. They also say that the calls outside of unlimited tariffs will be 3p per minute across the board (including cable to cable calls). That seems like a steep rise to me as nearly all my calls are either 1p per minute or cable to cable at the moment.
The only bit of good news was that from 2 Oct 150 and 151 will be back in service and free.
Does anyone have some clearer details on what is happening?

Re: Phone Prices
Looks like I am going to have to look at getting a call plan if that is the case, at the moment I am on the 3 2 1 plan.

Re: Phone Prices
Update reread the letter more info is at http://www.home.ntl.com/page/phonepricechange
both the letter and the page are not the sort of thing that the campaign for plain english would like they are clasics of obfuscation.

Re: Phone Prices
3p per min!!!! That's disgusting.
1899.com charge 3p per CALL to BT customers!!
You could still save with them or another indirect carrier ( www.1899.com charge 1p per min). Time to look elsewhere for your phone calls me thinks guys.
Oh and if you have BB from Ntl you could even dump the phone line and get a Vonage box for 7.99 a month with free UK and ROI land line calls instantly saving you ~£3 and then your land line calls on top!

Re: Phone Prices
I just don't get how every other telco provider is dropping their prices (even BT!!) and Ntl think they can increase theirs!

Re: Phone Prices

Re: Phone Prices
come on - all the other Telco companys have shareholders too - it's jsut arogant management that have the mentality of being untoughable! You are right though - they will learn.
Cable - if you can, switch!

Or the 3 3 3 plan as it should now be called.
I have been thinking for the past few weeks about looking about changing my phone from ntl, I think this settles it really, looking at what you can get from BT for the same cost.

Re: Phone Prices
Their 0845/0870 charges have become a right rip off.100% increase in one case. Time to move on.

Re: Phone Prices
Well that is it for me also, my current special deal runs out on Wednesday, and unless they do something about the phone deal I currently have, I will be looking around.
Once my phone has changed, the Internet will follow.

Re: Phone Prices
http://www.internetcalls.com/en/index.html
5 hours of free landline calls per week. no credit card needed to set up, works with 01 and 02 dialing codes.
I've been using it for a little over a week now and it works fine.
