Couldn't see a thread so thought I would post the link
Download for Windows
Just in case anyone wants to look. Remember the BETA word in the title though.
There are downloads available for other Operating systems
Just in case some of you want to try it without the risk of installing then:

Re: Firefox2 Beta 2
I've now got the portable version for Mac. Be aware that if you run it, the next time you start your full version of FF 1.5 it will think you are running it for the first time, run an extension compatibility test and then load the 'updated' page at Mozilla.org. It does this on Mac anyway.
Mildly concerning for a few seconds, but no damage done.

Re: Firefox2 Beta 2
It installs to a different folder than 1.x so you have 2 versions on the system.

Re: Firefox2 Beta 2
Thanks Paul, i've just downloaded it.
BUT, i don't like the red cross on each tab like it is on IE 7, i much prefer it on the right hand side, does anyone know if i can change it?

Can't be done Pia. You'll get used to it, I hated it at first, but am OK with it now.
Been using 2 beta 1 then 2 beta 2 for ages.

Re: Firefox2 Beta 2
I don't see why you don't just use it - as I said, I didn't get on with it, but now find it OK.
The whole reason for it is if you "tab up" then you can see the others and switch using the arrows at the sides.

Re: Firefox2 Beta 2
I never used to like/use FF 1.# since I couldn't stand the GUI layout - but they've changed it in FF 2 and so I actually like FF now.
There's only one thing I need, which is a task tray icon - but the plugin for it doesn't support FF 2 B2

I like having the browser open all windows from the last time it was run, but since there is no shortcut to close the entire browser, I have to keep going to File > Exit. If it was in the task tray I could either just minimise all the windows to it or close it straight from that icon.
