Question Dreamweaver/Web Page experts help!!

Dreamweaver/Web Page experts help!!
Hi.

Can you help a relatively inexperienced (i.e. a complete novice) web page designer (yeah right!).

In the link below.... there are four blue banners Calibration, Supply etc.

Using Dreamweaver.... how do I get the gaps between each of them to be less? I am puzzled. I am working my way through tutorials but haven't come across this yet. They need to be inline like now but the gaps far less.

Link

Cheers!!

Can't help you much (I get a 404 Error on that page).

Right click on the page element that's causing you problems (from within DW) and look for something called "Cell Padding", "Cell Spacing" or "Border Width". Not sure exactly what they'll be called but that should get you started.

Re: Dreamweaver/Web Page experts help!!

You're opening and closing paragraphs for each image link to apply a style.
All you need is to open a <p> tag before the first image link and close it after the last one. If you use <br> to start a new line, you'll get this:

(view the page source to see the changes I made)

You guys are stars....thanks.

What option would I need in DW to do this for me without resorting to HTML. Just out of interest. Thanks.

Re: Dreamweaver/Web Page experts help!!

dreamweaver is great, but i think that you still need to go into the code and alter stuff - i've been a web designer for years, and whilst it is the industry standard, you still need a good knowledge of HTML for when it does things that are a little odd, or not exactly what you want...

Re: Dreamweaver/Web Page experts help!!

Hi,
I'm new to all this so thanks for reading!

I'm currently making my art website. I have a gallery page with thumbnails around the border and when you rollover them a bigger version appears in the centre of the page.

My problem is that even though I have put hide onload on the larger image, when you go to the page you can still visibly see all the large images load-up....

Anyone know how I can stop this happening?

Thanks alot!

Place them in a table and then set the height alignment until it suits (top, middle, bottom, baseline etc in options).

Don't use Javascript? You can do all that in css like http://www.cssplay.co.uk/menu/gallery.html
