Now sitting comfortably at 3.66ghz with an Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro 7. No throttling (and it's turned off in the BIOS anyway) the value RAM is holding it's own at 544ish mhz (rated at only 533) and so far no problems. The x1600xt is an amazing card too. 58k points in Aquamark3 so far.

More benchies to follow, etc.
You should be getting more than 58k, I just ran it and got 89,095.

Re: [Merged] 4.1 Ghz Dual Core Pentium 805 Monster

It could have something to do with my Valueram though, running it with a divider doesn't help... Looking for some good DDR2-800 that won't break the bank in a week or so.

This board has sopme major voltage issues though, blimey! Dual Priming now (affinity set to one core per instance of prime) at 3.7Ghz. Temps are at 48'C for the CPU. Not too bad.

Broke 60k in Aquamark earlier, but only just, this is a fresh install as well :/ What are you running?

A64 4000 @ 3.1ghz, X1900XT at stock, 2gb Mushkin PC3200 at stock. I reckon I could break 100K easily with a small clock on the x1900.

Re: [Merged] 4.1 Ghz Dual Core Pentium 805 Monster

That's why my score seems comparatively low... Aquamark3 isn't multi-threaded so dual core brings no benefits really to it, and that 4000+ cpu you have is alot more powerful than an 805 under air. Just ouch for comparing the x1600 to the x1900 as well. lol.

Still dual priming at 3.7... Lovely and stable.

60K sounds about right (missed it in your previous post), not a bad score, what's your 3dM scores?

lol yeah comparing a 12 pipe (4 real) x1600xt to a 48pipe (16 real) x1900 lol!
you've got 3x the gpu power in pipes alone let alone the 1900 runs at 625-650mhz (xt-xtx) compared to 590mhz of the x1600.

If you're only at 48c loaded you can push it some more by extra vcore. i wouldnt worry about vdroop all that much. Just set a higher initial value so that under load its what you need. When idle your cpu will throttle and be able to handle the higher voltage.

Still i'd of gone with the c2d! at 3GHz the c2d is easily a match for a dual 4ghz 900 series chip, never mind the old 800 series. Pretty much all c2d's hit mid 3G's as well.

I'd tell you what my aq3 score is if it didn't crash at the end it will be very high.

I hit 54k in 3dm'01, 13k in '05 and 6.5k in '06 all with gpu @ stock

note most of those are slightly old as my cpu was at 3.5GHz at the time its now at 3.85GHz

3d Mark, futuremark.com, I think most versions have a series of CPU tests.

If AM3 is crashing, get the DLL patch for it, fixed it for me.

Re: [Merged] 4.1 Ghz Dual Core Pentium 805 Monster

Good luck locating it, took me ages earlier to find the patch to stop the crash. Wait, i'll upload it here actually, simply unzip it into the am3 install folder and get going

I'll take a look at 3dmark

I was thinking Core2Duo to begin with, but i saved £200 not going for it, and when i haven't got the other £200 in the first place... It's the difference

Plus, i was waiting for a better motherboard, however, i can drop a C2D in this board and it work straight away OC'ing would be ok as well, as it's just a DS3 without the caps on the capacitors.

That's some nice scores right there. Does the Core 2 make a noticeable difference? (I'm waiting on stock for a 6600 still )

Re: [Merged] 4.1 Ghz Dual Core Pentium 805 Monster

aha thanks for the patch. Attached is my score
gpu @ stock.

and yes the c2d makes a big difference. My Pentium D 930 @ 4GHz is utterly blown out of the water, especially 3dmark 01 where the score is some 10k higher. But in 05 and 06 the cpu score is also alot higher. In '05 a 4.5GHz 900 series can just hit 11k cpu score. Something beaten by the c2d at 3.2GHz

E6700 but that doesn't really matter the E6600 clocks just as well.

Was air cooled with a Zalman 9500-AT, it could do 3.5GHz solid and was benchmark stable at 3.7GHz

Its now under water cooling which has made it stable at 3.73GHz and will bench at 3.85GHz but to go much faster rapidly needs more voltage and my waterblock just isnt upto the job

Not sure how good or bad this is, but the pictures pretty much speak for themselves.

SuperPi 1m in 37.734sec @ 3.66ghz
SuperPi 32m in 32mins 48.266secs @ 3.66Ghz

Dual Prime stable for 9hours at 3.56ghz.

Nice, basically.
