Some questions after I install a new HD

After read some suggestion from here, I finally decided to reinstall W2k in my new HD rather than ding Ghost imaging.
Now I have some questions arised.
(1) Re-installed W2k cannot switch off itself automatically. It asked me 'You can now safely switch off the computer'. I think ther is a solution but cannot remember. Someone give a shout please?
(2) Where Outlook express and Outlook store their massage and address book? What is the file type? I saw someone before just copy afile from one outlook express to another then all mails just transfered.

Thanks

Re: Some questions after I install a new HD

Hi,

1) - Make sure you have power options and drivers set correctly...I think you need to have some APM compliant hardware - check this link for more info...

2) - C:\Docs&Settings\ Your profile - actually - there's an easier way - in OE -Tools, Options, Maintainance, Store folder. And for Outlook, Tools, Options, Mail Setup, Data Files - this might be slightly different for versions of Outlook pre-2003 versions...

Outlook Express stores a number of different files, make sure you find them all. Typically there will be a file for each of the mail folders, and subfolders, including sent items. There will be other files for your address book (contacts). As said above, best way to locate is using the OE tools.
