Re: orange info? (orange wednesdays)

Just send a text saying "film" to 241 from your orange phone and you'll get a text with a code, take it to your cinema (make sure they participate) and you'll get your free ticket.

Re: orange info? (orange wednesdays)

There is nowt like bringing back old thread

Every Wednesday our local cinema is well packed, the que's are really long as everyone is doing this.

However looking at the Orange.co.uk site & the terms & conditions for this offer it brings to light a few things.

1) You should be using more than £5 a month to qualify for this.

Funny, because that's what I use a quarter & I have been twice now ?

2) You cannot use this offer to purchase your tickets in advance whatsoever, anyhow, no way jose....

Funny, because they let me buy mine in the morning rather than wait in the que?

3)You send the text off, you get your code back. The following days you will get a text asking you if you liked it & if you want one for the following wednesday just text "YES" back and if you want to opt out of film texts, text "STOP" back.

Does this mean that if I do nothing I will continue to get texts from them every week that cost me 10p a time?

Whatever, IMO this is great & I will be using it more often, it has enable me & the wife to go out to the flicks very cheaply, which these days is very rare.

Re: orange info? (orange wednesdays)

We saw a film this way a couple of months ago. Almost half the people in the queue waved a mobile phone when they got to the counter. This is a darned superb offer and frankly everyone who likes going to the cinema occasionally ought to have an Orange phone!

One thing though ... what would stop an unscrupulous non-Orange user from receiving and using a text forwarded from an Orange-using friend?

Re: orange info? (orange wednesdays)

Well I got a orange pay as you go just to take up this superb offer and get the starwars bundle thing. Have used it a good many times now and have not topped up at all. so the £5 minimum top up thing is really not in effect.

I do go to the cinema a lot and am considering the UGC monthly ticket that you can use as many times as you want each month just for paying £11.99.

There is nothing really to stop them using the text ticket code as long as it has not already been used.
I have sent the text to the phone that I use all the time rather than having to take the 2 phones with me, and have not been stopped from using it.

Re: orange info? (orange wednesdays)

Hmm, that's a good idea, get the text on one of many phones & resend them to a single phone, then when asked for the codes just fumble about in your pocket for "another" identical phone :-)

Do you have to be only a party of 2, or can you do this with a party of 4 & 2 texts , same bill OK ?

I went through the rigmarole of paying for each couple separately.
