NTL keyboard issues with new box
Hiya all well this problem is more my fathers here goes:
He has just recieved a new shiny samsung stb, and with this gave his old keyboard back with his old box as the old keyboard would not work with new stb.
In return he was given a lovely purple one, all is good new box new keyboard great. Well no, the new keyboard is laggy and boy i mean laggy to respond, we have tried new batteries and even moved stb and tried all sorts, are these new keyboards any use at all.
All my dad uses keyboard for is his tv e-mail service.
Any advice be great on this one, he may be ringing techy support if it is a issue.

Re: NTL keyboard issues with new box
Does he have any of the following in the same room: plasma TV, energy-saving bulbs, fluorescent tubes. If so, it would be useful to know whether it works better with these off. (Ok - turning the TV off may not be the ideal solution ).
Does it respond to the remore control ok?
Whatever, I think a call to ntl is required.

I'm sure there were sound reasons for going with IRDA for the Twowaytv games but even they don't use the system anymore on their live service!! (well not the last time i used it anyway!)

Re: NTL keyboard issues with new box
okay so just a question:
could energy light bulbs cause the keyboard to lag so much when being used right in front of the stb ( samsung digi-box) and new replacement keyboard from NTL as the old Cable-wireless one wont work with this box im going to ask him to remove the bulbs and check it then
report back once done

Thanks. Please also find out whether the remote works ok.
The old ex-C&W keyboard won't work as the infrared protocol is completely different.

Re: NTL keyboard issues with new box
Ok now this keyboard I have used and it is a weird problem this, now we covered the top dark lense thing it works a little better but not much, however it works for like 10-20letters then starts laggin and missing words out and then gets worse then suddenly better.
Think this one going back to ntl techy support
