While i admit 500k for £3+ is a bargain, my connection has been terrible since the upgrade. Its constant for a while, then its up and down like my 1meg never was.

I have a STB and IMb connection. Apparently NTL have to change my STB before I can get the 1.5Mb speed.

My wife has just informed me that she came home to find a card through the door saying that the engineer had come to swap our STB for the Samsung one.
What happened to my phone call to arrange an appointment then NTL?

Sigh! |

Has anyone with a STB been upgraded yet? I've got a Samsung and the postcode chescker is now reporting that the upgrade is done. After a re-boot stilll on 1Mb though, although the postcode checker has only just changed in the last couple of hours so maybe it will take some time to come through or is it a case of waiting till Sep 1st still?

I'd like to know if they're waiting till the majority of STBs for all areas are done before upgrading everyone, or doing an area when all STBs in that area are swapped .....

I had my new set top box installed 2weeks ago and now via the ntl web site speedupgrade understand that the 1.5meg is now available in this area. I checked my speed tonight (wednesday) and its only 813kb/s, phoned the tchnical helpline, waited for 20 minutes to speak to an engineer only to be told that the 1.5mb upgrade for stb has been delayed untill october.anyone else having problems with ntl giving out false information
