Re: Cheapest way to buy a laptop

I waited for one of those special one week aldi deals

one of the things you might wanna look at is how long the battery willl last. Its unlikely any sales ppl will know how long it will last per laptop so read reviews on the battery time and make sure that you know details of the battery so that you can pick up a replacement or a spare should you require it.

Looks pretty good for that price....

the Acer ones are not well known - but do seem to be pretty reliable.#

Re: Cheapest way to buy a laptop

I got it anyway, looking at other machines and it was atleast £250 more, so why not. Acer are very big in Germany apparently, and we know they don't buy crap

As a side note I looked for a wireless router at the same time

PC world : Belkin £100
Maplin : unbranded £70
Staples : Belkin (the same one as pc world ) £40, that's the same price ebuyer are selling them for, so I got me one of them too

EDIT : it's a 2.8ghz P4, since I didn't put that in my earlier post.

Re: Cheapest way to buy a laptop

My university seems to have some kind of deal with Acer, as the laptops that they supply to dyslexic students, the two people i live with that have had that have no complaints at all

I checked the RAM thing before I bought it, crucial stock some so I'm ok there.

Well I'm loving my new toy, and my wireless connection now

Thanks to all those that posted in here
