That reminds me, I need some of that, its good for starting a fire when you have nowt else available.. (Scouting survival course coming up).
Returning to the subject of toothpaste, its very good at being used to remove crayon etc from wallpaper, cleaning scribbled on furniture etc.
Has anyone tried the automatic dispensers?
Where you invert the tube into it & put a button or turn a knob (now, now) to dispense a measured amount of the paste.
And as for cleaning the toothpast nozzle on a std tube, this should be done
reguraly as a matter of course. Just think how much muck could be on someone elses brush & if they brush it along the top of the tube & your next....Eewwwww.

Re: Toothpaste
Buy a smaller tube so that it will get replaced more frequently?

Would cleaning fluff out of one's navel be gross enough?

Absolutely!
I agree though - toothpaste does seem to get mucked up easily with those caps - but surprisingly it's nowhere near as bad when my daughters are not in residence?

Personally, I consider that tootpaste has never been the same since they got rid of the soft metal tubes that you could roll up from the bottom as the tootpaste was used. It ranks with sticking the sliver of old soap onto the new bar in giving you a virtuous sense of being frugal. Of course, this could just be a hangover from my young days when socks were darned, Sunday's roast became a fry up on Monday etc.

Re: Toothpaste
Yeah, well, they did the same with the sqidgy HP Sauce bottles and that has EXACTLY the same problem.
I stick with the glass one now thanks very much.

May I submit the name of Robert Grosseteste, the extremely learnÃÃâ€*’¨d Bishop of Lincoln, for this award.

You mean that there is a technical term for it? You live and learn!
I'm trying to remember who it was who suggested that navels are designed for keeping the salt in when eating crisps in bed. PS If the connection between salt and packet of crisps has just whizzed over your head without the slightest sign of stopping, ask your parents. Use some phrase such as "little blue packet".
