Don't you just hate it when.........
You sign up to so many different websites and then you can't cancel your subscription or account. Well earlier i went to the Atomic Kitten website and didn't notice what i was doing (Always doing this). Anyway before i knew it i was registered, i only wanted to get a wallpaper of Tash  . I do not wish to be a member anymore but i can't find out how you cancel the blasted account, tried searching on Google (before Bifta comes in) but found absolutly nothing regarding the problem im having. Could someone please help???
I have been absolutly stupid by doing this.

Is there any downside to being a member (i.e. receiving emails/spam)?
If not, why worry? If yes, I'm sure there must be an option to unsubscribe?

i hate it when i find out my daughter has accidently joined britannia dvd club or something similar and then getting bombarded with all this junk mail. Had at least 2 junk stuff a week so far!

Normally there is a link to end the subscription within the email itself if not there should be an option at the site end.

Can you just email the admin & ask them to cancel your account?
Or change the email on your profile to one you don't mind receiving junk in?
What do you actually get from them? Does it matter? Can you unsubscribe via a link in the emails you get?

Hah! the number of times I've unsubscribed in the past from newletters etc that I forgotton not to tick for.Grrr!It never works as they continue to send me the dratted things.I let Spamnet take care of them all now.

Even if you think its a respectable website NEVER give your NO1 email address. ALWAYS give a 2ND one. It helps to keep your NO1 email address spam free unless its an NTLWORLD one that is

It's the TIME LIFE cr@p you have to watch out for.
You somehow get involved for one book without realising it's a series and then woe betide you trying to cancel.They keep sending you books even when you plead for them to stop.However eventually I found out that IF they keep sending you the books AFTER you have cancelled,one may actually KEEP the books.They soon got the message.

Unless there is a specific reason they need an email address (emailing a password for instance), I normally just give a made-up email address.
Anyway, I hate it when (and I know of one particular site that does this) you are looking for help with something, find an article on the web, start to read it. This "This is good, this will help a lot", carry on reading it and then halfway through a sentance, you suddenly get "To read the rest of this article, please register". When you click "Register", the first thing you are asked for is your credit card number. BTW, before you get the wrong idea, the site I am referring to is a PC help site.
The worst thing I have done is actually similar to BB31's daughter. I joined Britannia. I saw the ads, didn't read the small print, thought "£3 .99 for a CD, that's cheap", and totally ignored the possibly hundreds of pounds I would have to spend on possibly unwanted CDs to get that £3.99 CD...
