Seeming how ITV2 is doing so well on the platform it will no doubt be on. There making money via the adverts because its doing well and Yes Daytime will be on other platforms. You have to pay for those mind you

A lot of the radio stations on NTL digital are not available on my Hi-Fi as they are digital only and I object to buying a DAB radio for £100 when you can buy a Freeview box for half the price!

Well I object to paying a TV Licence only to find the BBC spending around 650million ayear onit and then allowing the rubbish on my TV screen too. Radio has its own place and its not on a tv

I like the EXTRA radio stations on the STB- some of which i'd never get anywhere else- useful when browsing the 'walled-garden' internet pages rather than annoying cr*p TV shows in the background - after all if it was worth watching i wouldn't be browsing!

Re: Price increase
It is still good to see in the "Still Great Value with NTL:Home" section, that there are comparing phone costs to the old BT call rates, where they state that daytime calls are 7.91p a minute whereas now BT matcch the 3p that NTL charge.
I have NTL phone (at the moment), but I believe there advertising is really ambiguous and misleading at time at confusing the general public. Also I do not like that they have decreased thier service to me, by stopping itemised billing, which in the past I used to prove errors.

Re: Price increase
A total side issue here...Musicman they have not stopped your itemised billing they have just started to charge for it, so if you want it you can still have it just at a cost
To be honest alot of the people on ntl that have th ebase pack like it cos they can add things to it for a month and they have the ability to get PPV movies and the like. many people on Freeview don't want such things which is why Freeview is fine for them. They are 2 totally different products aimed at different people IMO. However there are some ppl on ntl base pack who don't want to add things or watch PPV movies who would be better off on Freeview

Re: Price increase
I really don't think there should be any line rental in this day and age. It just goes to show there's not enough competition. Especially when some mobile phones work out cheaper with free minutes

Re: Price increase
Just to make the set complete and to add to Neils list of Freeview channels and Orangebirds NTL base pack channels. Below is a list of channels you get on Sky without a viewing card. So, after your first 12 months contract to get the free digiblox and installation for £1 you can cancel your Sky contract and pay nothing for these. For ITV, Channel 4 and Five you need a viewing card but there is no monthly subscription charge for them.
One thing to note is that the GOD channel is on this list but costs you £6 per month if you want it from NTL.

They may be crap to you but may just be what some people want. Can you honestly say that there is no channel in the list that you would ever watch.
Why do NTL charge £6 for the "GOD" channel if it is so crap that nobody wants to watch it? They must have some customers for it, if not they could use the slot for something customers do want.

I really don't think its harsh though. Look through this thread. The people at the top don't seem to know the market. There pricing themselves out of it. Expecting people to bail them out of the black hole a little faster and help with there huge wage rise's and redundancy package's for those below them
