Question Browsing Problems

Since yesterday night I have had problems browsing websites, it seems to affect one set then 10minutes later another set, I have also found a new IP, 80.5.160.4 (cache1-bagu.server.ntli.net ) ,when I check my IP address on my router is hasn't change from 81.97.*.*

Why have I suddenly gained this cache address, browsing was fine before this?

Re: Browsing Problems

It appears that NTL have turned on transparent web cacheing in your area again after many months of being off.

Re: Browsing Problems

After this weeks maintenance, I found some graphics on a certain webpages are coming throughm where as before just empty boxes appears, HOWEVER, some sites are not coming up at all, guess they have nicked the machines from the DNS to do caches/proxies !!!

Re: Browsing Problems

I noticed a few graphics never used to come up, but I'd rather have a few missing graphics than a few missing pages, browsing been crap so far.

Re: Browsing Problems

I have taken advice given in this board or the .com board, the solution for this is to use DNS by other ISPs. Browsing is a lot quicker !!

You telling me! The whole week has been browsing problems and email problems. When is NTLWorld going to start providing "award winning service"!

I've had NTL for just over 2 years and this is the first time I've had serious problems browsing, other than a broken STB and interactive been turned off, which only lasted a few days.

I've never seen a transparent web cache and the IP that I am shown on websites is mine, not an NTL servers'.

If anyone from NTL who deals with caches reads this then,

TURN THE BLOODY THING OFF!!!!!!
