Ferrets key to bridging the digital divide between cities and rural areas
Quote:
The development could help increase broadband in current Internet "dead zones", giving access to inaccessible places, and and helping bridge the 'digital divide'.
Sorry I'm a little late to this one. (It brought back some memories)
I didn't see the incident myself, but I am aware of a ferret used to pull a string through a duct. About 20 years ago when I was working for a cable company, there was much laughter when they had failed to pull a cable through a duct. One of the old technicians (He a few years away from retirement at the time) had knocked on the door of a house where he knew a young boy had a ferret. He gave the lad about 50p and they tied some string to the ferret and let him go successfully through the duct with the string.
Funny, it has made me think back and wonder if the old guy is still with us. If so he would be in his early 80's now.
