Event viewer > system

Hi all, trying to get to the bottom of an ongoing problem, in short, been getting kicked from games BF2 and CoD, now assuming that its graphics based ie, hardware or drivers I've tried a few things to no avail.

Now the last time I was kicked I checked the event viewer and found this fault, see piccy.

Error > date 16/08/2006 > time 21:57:29 - :48 disk Disk 2

There have been a couple of other times and dates with the same error, some were while playing and some were not, checking about I found one description saying that this code was maybe a security or permission error.

Anybody have any light to throw on the subject ?

TIA

double click them and paste what the actual error details are, that will help

Re: Event viewer > system

Well ive had drives throw errors up in event viewer and there still running now.Ive had problems with raid controller drivers cause this and possibly using microsofts generic chipset drivers instead of proper drivers also could be a cause of poorly perfoming disks

Funny one this, when I get kicked what happens varies, sometimes I get kicked to desktop ( rare ) sometimes I get the BSoD, and sometimes I get a BlackSoD the last 2 needing a hard reboot via the 9 count on the power button

I haven't tried the directx approach, I'll try anything, thanks

I couldn't see amention of error id 2, only 7 etc etc, another strange thing is that the games in question are on my C drive which is disk 1 and not disk 2 which is chucking out the errors

EDIT: I'm gonna try running the game with disk 2 disconnected, well it's just a thought

Re: Event viewer > system

I'm with Zingle.... Those event logs aren't are a bit misleading sometimes. Have you checked what temps you are running at under load?

Those event logs... Do they absolutely, positively tie in to the machine crashing?

Re: Event viewer > system

Yeah, time to run diagnostic stuff, bop... like Zing says, give Memtest and Prime a run, but also try running the diagnostic tools for your HDD to see if that shows anything wrong too.

Yep, deffo a fault....somewhere ....lol

Haven't got another machine to tinker with, well not to this spec

I'm kicked everytime I try and run BF2, time to kicking varies

I think I'll have to make time for a trip down to ya, over due anyways

9800 pro, yeah, different power supply...No.

Re: Event viewer > system

skt a cpu ddr 400 and agp i got swap test hardware for that lot lol
If you had the spare dollar you could always buy a 805 lol If your gfx swaptests ok you can upgrade to an 805 with the ddr you own and the gfx for 100 quid mate
Im running an 805 on an asrock twin board (not my main machine) which has both ddr and ddr 2 slots agp and pci-e gfx slots and the board costs less than 40 quid

Re: Event viewer > system

We'll have speaks matey

Just had a thought, was it BF2 that didn't like directx 9.xx ?? Was the game run better in directx 7 ? if I'm thinking of another game wtf was it ??

Just clutching at straws whilst running Everest

EDIT: attached temps etc etc as reported by Everest, anything else I can do with it, from an idiots point of view

Re: Event viewer > system

Update, just checked event viewer and found event id11, checked on the ms database and found this. Could be the answer to it all *crosses fingers, I have spare cables so I'll swap them out and fire up BF2
