x64 only boots properly about 1 in 10 times.

The other times it hangs for about 3 minutes at the splash screen. It will then take forever to get to the desktop and even when it does, a lot of core components don't work.

The odd time it does work, it works flawlessly.

I have done system restores, full disk checks and everything seems fine.

My detective work has narrowed things downs to acpitabl.dat (I think I've remembered that right). When I try booting to safe mode, the same problems happen and it is that file that is on the screen.

Also, around this time, a driver to do with Daemon tools loads even though I uninstalled the program. Skipping it at safe mode boot doesn't help

Any ideas?

Ta.
