Re: E-mail addy required

emails will often get you nowhere. I'd suggest a recorded delivery letter, to the address on the bill. That way you can prove they got it.

Re: E-mail addy required

i have sent a letter detailing what was paying for, and i know they recieved it as i had a cheque attached to it

---------- Post added at 18:41 ---------- Previous post was at 17:10 ----------

Well said i wouldnt ring them but i did....and am i glad i did

June 26th i cancelled my connections with all 3 services, and was told that they would be cancelled after the 30 day period on July 26th(silly me belived them as well) then i get a bill, which took me 2 weeks past me disconnection date...and speak to billing explain what i will pay, they agree, and i write a letter explaining this with a couple of cheques and everything is sorted - - NOT!!!

Today i then recieve a letter from the "Londons Collection Department" stating I OWE THEM £27.04! !!!! - think not

I was so miffed that i did eventually ring them, and on my what did i uncover....spoke to billing, nothing we can do, put through to credit control....we cant access your file..sent me somewhere else....15mins gone by now

Got speaking to one guy and he says that your services aren't cancelled ...his words " there is a not stating you requested it, but nothing has been done" shock/horror. So after a few heated....very heated words, and being told that there was nothing he could do, and that "I" needed to ring up and sort it - now that really ****ed me off...and told him i cant as i do work for a living even though i seem to spending a chunk of it ringing NTL, i have now got to write them a letter, and that until it is cancelled i shall still be getting billed - they are having a joke

And to have a laugh, he said that it his NTL's fault and they would credited anything they owed me....funny that, but i aint paying another cent to them so they wont be able to credit anything, as they have to be the most usless set of customer serivce people that i have ever had to deal with.

So now its time to sit down and put another letter together explaing everything and who i have spoke to....the saga no doubt will carry on

Re: E-mail addy required

well i guess its a long shot, but considering that richard branson of virgin fame is now a board member of ntl and he wouldnt like to have his brand draged down the bog, perhaps the ntl end CF users should start collecting these facts and forwarding them to RB's personal asistents office or other high ranking virgin office so as to enlighten branson to the facts of how the ntl CS and other departments are currently run.

perhaps he can do something noone else can , and finally make someone at ntl get their act together and correct these faults for the better long term future of the re-badged companys and its users?.

Re: E-mail addy required

This is very similar to what happened to me!
Billing said exactly the same thing to me when I said they had overcharged. They basically said overcharged or not I had to pay the disputed amount or face debt collection.
Again NTL are overchaging and offering to credit back the overchage against future service despite the accounts being cancelled! ludicrous! They should not be using their customer base to secure interest free loans!

These stories really do need to be collected.

I like the idea of contacting Richard Branson. This i will be doing now! I have already contacted the BBC and various other consumer groups.
