Thumbs down No service-Stockport-time to fix NTL ???

I have had no broadband service for the last two days. I live in Stockport SK5. I knew it was a network problem. I phoned tech help yesterday and had to put up with someone telling me it was everything to do with my pc and nothing to do with NTL. There was no telling him. He then kindly offered to upgrade me to 4Mb for one month free. Of course i knew id have to ring and cancel or id be charged after the first month. I declined and said i was quite happy with my 1Mb connection and all i wanted was for it to work. I was getting no where so just ended the call. Today i still have no service but a pre recorded message states problems in my area. Why then do they employ a tech help line which insists that my connection is ok and my pc is at fault when they are plainly talking rubbish. Does anyone at NTL have a time to fix this outage in south Manchester?

I have also had a really poor broadband service in SK5, it's been on and off for the last couple of weeks. Yesterday it was working but incredibly slow to the point of unusable.
