Mobile browsers ????
Putting this in here because it's net based, Ok, I've just upgraded my XDA II to the XDA Exec, web browsing is fine but with one major 'niggle' page sizes, i.e. a forum page on my old XDA was about 20KB IIRC, with the new one it's 200KB ( Bytes not bits ) now at £2.30 per meg the bill is soon gonna tot up, I've tried messing with settings etc etc but doesn't make much difference, not displaying images is not what I'm looking for, it makes the whole page
So, the question, does anyone know of either a browser where I can view text only without screwing up the page ( with the ability to post replies if it's a forum ) or a prog that will help with the same.
TIA

I've not had much of a problem the times I've tried to find a Wi-Fi but it's for the times I can't, plus it's annoying, there must be a solution IIRC there was gonna be a 'true' mobile version of CF, don't know if it ever got off the ground, then theres always the achieve but it's had locating threads and without the means to post replies................the search goes on
EDIT:- Just been having a nosey around for some skins, stumbled upon this site, the link shows a text only version with a link at the top of the page to view full version, can't see a post reply button but maybe there's a way yet
Anyone have any ideas how they're doing this text only version ??

Re: Mobile browsers ????
There was a mobile version of CF, but it was rarely used so after one of the VB updates the template wasn't remade for the new version.

Ahh, so there WAS one, thought I was cracking...lol, so the version in my link in the above post is site specific and not something that can be downloaded ????

Re: Mobile browsers ????
Not that I would have a great call for it, but having an xda mini s I'm following this thread with great interest. I have found that I take my sony k750i with me as a phone and use the xda purley as a pda. Certainly helps having the wifi
If anyone has any other good utils for win mob 5 then post them up as well. I' looking for a good vnc client.

Thanks anyways mate, the achieve would be great if it were more ordered and the ability to reply, having said that it's site specific, I'm looking for a general app / prog that will do all / most of the net as a text page, damn this VGA screen and wm2005

Yes to both, first as I said up there /\ /\ /\ somewhere turning images off mucks the page up, I get the little box's with the red X's and a load of I think, HTML code, low res doesn't make a lot of difference,I can change all sorts, page layout, i.e. column / desktop etc, and zoom level as well as text size, all options so far have given about the same page size +/- 200kilobytes, which is gonna give me a huge bill
