Unhappy NTL imaginary package

About 10 days or so ago I had a telesales call from NTL offering me the following deal.
TV package equivilent to Sky
Sky movies
A box better than Sky plus because it records 2 programs simultaneously.
As I have 4mb broadband and unlimted telephone package I would get a value pack with the TV package added for £73.49.

I told them I was very interested but would have to run it past my wife so they arranged to phone back a few days later.

They didn't of course so Iphoned them confirmed the package and got a very quick delivery and installation. I then cancelled Sky.

All good except the engineer delivered a standard Samsung box. I phoned customer services expecting to get a sory wrong box sent but they tell me they don't do a sky plus equivilent. I asked how they could possibly sell me a package they don't have and after being passed around abit they said they would phone me back tonight, which the didn't do.

I am bitterly disapointed and left wondering what to do. I am tempted to quit NTL altogether maybe go with Bulldog and use the saving to partially fund SKY plus which does at least exist.

Anyone else had an experience like this ?

Re: NTL imaginary package

Sounds like there is a Sales agent not telling the truth. I'd advise phoning Sales and making a complaint about it. They should not have advised you of this - even if you are tempted to stay with NTL, please let the sales team know. The more people complain out it, the less it will happen.

Re: NTL imaginary package

I phoned them and thet were very appologetic and offered me a sweetener for 3 months to stay.
Praise where praise is due they were very good about it.
The package was only £65.99 as well which is a great deal.
