i-websolutions - critical attention requested

If there is anyone online from i-websolutions reading this can you PLEASE PM me (or if anyone else has a personal contact for someone at i-websolutions can they pass this message on urgently).
There are pending support tickets now of a critical nature regarding domain expiry that need immediate attention.

Re: i-websolutions - critical attention requested

No one is showing as online at the moment Flub. I do know Si (nemesis) has taken over looking after that side of things for I-web but as you'll be aware from the recent thread he's been a bit poorly.

Have you registered a domain through iweb and its going to expire. If you could let me know the details i could text KP.

Re: i-websolutions - critical attention requested

Resolved.
Domain owner finally received i-web invoice last minute, paid, and misk.com confirmed domain renewed.
Don't know support ticket details (2 of them this week, one today marked critical i believe). No point now.

Re: i-websolutions - critical attention requested

Hi Basil,

They are a bit more expensive, but the main differences being

1) I-Web is UK Located (only recently though) and im sure any client that was in our migrations will agree, having the servers located in the UK seems to have speeded up the site load time tremendously!

2) hostandfly.com appear to be resellers (despite what their own site says, they appear to not own their equipment etc.), and have only been going since November 05 (again, concerning there site, under the "Our Network" link, states otherwise).... whilst these arent serious issues i guess, especially for the price... it would set alarm bells ringing for me... too much contradicting information, if you know what i mean... (talking about there own DC, on a reseller plan, talking about office being in tampa florida, domain reg'd to UK, talking about running for 4 years, company been running since november) Not bashing them, just commenting..... Just be weary, but for the price.... i guess we cant always have paradise....

Also, if you right click on some of there images, and click properties.. you can see the original home of some of their images... (i.e. they are hotlinking, didnt even bother taking a copy... just using someone elses bandwidth) and others are hosted at imageshack.... now why would a reputable host do this?

Site5 and hostgator are 2 of the big boys in the hosting industry though... alot of respect to them - Especially hostgator... i talk to Dave over there on a weekly basis.... i believe he has even done some work on some of I-Web's boxes.... theyre a good company...

(just thought i'd put my own comments into the box )

Re: i-websolutions - critical attention requested

usefull information there, thanks KingPhoenix for taking the time to explain.

Ive been with hostandfly for a couple of months now and haven't had any problems, with the price they're offering i don't really mind if im hosted on a reseller account

Host and fly are resellers, looks like they use the Sago Datacentre.

You get what you pay for, and IMO I-Webs prices are reasonably cheap. They'd be my second choice as a host
