Connection Issues (Server)
I am new to online gaming, never actually got the point of it untill recently. Problem i have is that when connecting to servers (COD and Counterstrike (These are the only 2 games i have with online gaming that i know about) I always get interupted connections.. Manage to play the game for about 1 minute before resets and i have to find another server. This happens on most of the servers i have tried and is quite frustrating. Please advise.
I am running windows xp, through a belkin router (model f5d6231-4, then have a 2 mb connection.

Re: Connection Issues (Server)
Have you checked your ping (next to your game-name and scores) whilst you are in the game?
If you have a consistenly high ping, you will often automatically get kicked, as it ruins the game for other people.
Otherwise, do you have punkbuster installed and up to date (grasping at straws here, but trying to help), and do you have a software firewall and the games are cleared to go in/out of it?

Re: Connection Issues (Server)
Ping rises to approx 90 - 100 during game, other users are approx 30 - 40. Have opened all ports on router, having difficulty with zonealarm. Think that may be problem.

Re: Connection Issues (Server)
If you have a router, many router's do have a firewall on board. You might be able to rely on just that and disable zonealarm completely.

Re: Connection Issues (Server)
dunno if COD or CS use it but.........if they do, make sure PB is upto date, i play farcry online and a bone with a lot of ppl is the PB (good for gettin rid of the haxors) but for no apparent reason PB will sometimes kick for things like ping rates, settings etc etc.
as i said this applies to my exp of farcry servers so don't know if COD or CS run similar setups on their servers.
