Re: ntl reports fourth quarter 2005 results
Telewest did better this quarter, quite scary how close Telewest's revenue is compared to ntl's considering how much bigger ntl's coverage area is!

Re: ntl reports fourth quarter 2005 results
I wonder if there is lack of investment in the necessary infrastructure to make 10meg work properly and this is why people are often moaning of poor speeds and this lack of investment is due to the losses they are making?

Great news if its true. I've never used a more useless system than Harmony. Considering the amount of money they wasted on it the sooner they cut their losses the better.

Harmony was created to replace ALL legacy billing systems, Cable master, Itc, ICMS, SMS etc and any old legacy billing system. (this would now also include Telewest billing system I would have thought which is a souped up version of ICMS) I would say that it is very unlikely to go to the Telewest billing system as NTL would have to pay a large licence fee to use system telewest use, where as Harmony is paid for outright. (apart for system support for it)

Re: ntl reports fourth quarter 2005 results
Instead of taking three years to complete, they want it sorted within 14-15 months.
Some other bits of information that were of interest to me (and hopefully others): - They expect to have their branding wrapped up within 3 months
- On the NTL side of things they hope to launch their DVR in the 2nd half of this year
- They are very interested in Premiership rights and movie content as well
- They are looking at offering more talk plans including an unlimited international plan
- They also hope to increase the number of bundles available to appeal to as many of their customers as possible

Could this be that telewest have a high % of customers on higher priced products?
It is harder to sell a fast speed with a cap on it.

...and the stockholders of both NTL and Telewest have voted overwhelmingly for a combination of the two companies. They will be listed on the NY Stock Exchange as NTL Incorporated.
