Sourcing Fee
 to Amazon on this one.
They are now charging between £10 and £12 on top of the standard price for Xbox games as a 'finding fee'
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...374307-9883128
Presumably they need to replace the map they had previously
Scandalous. As well as the normal rip off prices compared the US released they now want to charge for the inconvenience of having the games delivered to their warehouses.
Nice one Amazon. Hopefully you never sell another Xbox 360 game in the UK

Re: Sourcing Fee
This is for items which they don't have in stock, and may not have a standard restocking option - I've seen them raise this for specialist books which may be out of print for example.
You do have a choice though of searching the internet to find a supplier with the item in stock, and thus doing the legwork that Amazon would have to do.

Re: Sourcing Fee
I'd say there was a bit of a difference between a hard to find book that might have been out of print for years and mass market games for a console.
If they are having issues with supply why not just pop an 'Out of Stock' notice on the website rather than just pumping up the price.

Presumably the fee is to cover a humans time spent finding and ordreing the item on your behalf. It's nice that they offer the facility rather than just say 'out of stock'

Re: Sourcing Fee
Hmmmm,
I'm still a bit sceptical. None of the other major websites seem to be having that much of an issue with the games being unavailable.
Maybe I'm just a cynic but I think its a way of getting as much cash as possible.

Re: Sourcing Fee
Amazon Scamazon... Plus they charge shipping fees, despite selling the games at the same prices as companies who absorb the postage costs in the price, such as play.com

Re: Sourcing Fee
Just been to check and Call of Duty 2 now costs £61.99 including a £12 fee from amazon!!! that is totally disgusting. I bet they don't sell many at that price.
