We have ntlworld email accounts. Emails sent to us from beeb.com and lycos.com are not reaching us. I know that other ntlworld users are having the same problem. In the case of a beeb.com user, he is getting an error message that the address "had permanent delivery errors". We have turned off the NTL spam trap (which I don't recall NTL ever telling us anything about, though I could be wrong). However that makes no difference.
We used to get email from the user at beeb.com, and this problem seemed to start about 2-3 months ago. I can't say when the lycos problem started, as we were only asked to use that email address a couple of months ago, and we have never received anything from it.
I've read various threads, some of which claim that NTL is blocking the other sites, and others that the other sites have blacklisted NTL. The reason cited is usually that users on one or other host must be generating masses of spam (presumably from infected PCs), and "the ISP concerned must be doing nothing about it".
Can anybody shed some light on this please? Whatever the reason, my wife is secretary of a choir whose committee conducts most business by email, and if other members of the committee have emails to her bounced, it really does make a mockery of the whole system.
