Scientists in London have created a mosquito with glowing testicles in a bid to stamp out malaria.....

huh? i dont understand how that can be more effective than insect killer. There are billions of male mosquito's out there that are already breeding.

Unless you kill all those off your never going to wipe out the species

There will always be a male mosquito who has not been sterilised and they in turn will have more females to mate from (because of natural selection) therefore perpetuating the species. There may be a reduction for a time.

Would be a new identifier at the disco (you would have to be sure your underwear/trousers were not see through in UV light)
