Silent Mouse

Is it possible to buy a mouse which does not go click click click when ever someone presses a button.

It is just a pet hate of mine trying to concentrate and only hearing the click click click click click of someone using a mouse..

Mine never makes a noise, there's a set up for silent keys and mouse in properties.

I suspect he's on about the physical noise the mouse makes when clicking.

The only thing I can suggest is to goto the likes of PC World and try the mice on display and find the quitest one, and try and buy it online cheaper

I did see one which was pressure sensitive but cannot find it now for the life of me.

Another option is getting an external laptop style touch pad and programming it so that there are two 'hot zones' one for left and one for right click.

To actually go in PC world is swearing upon the it industry check with the likes of scan computers for pressure sensitive mouse or such like

true but a mouse would be best bet, as I wish it to be something she is familiar with ( she has trouble using her left hand )

I think he means a stereotype of the average PCworld person is the type of guy who knows jack all about computer, and is just there to rip people off with crap computers.

The new apple Mighty Mouse doesn't click - it is pressure sensitive. It is fully XP compatible, but costs a fortune (like everthing else Apple).

It has a left and right mouse button, plus a third button at the bottom.

The only trouble with pressure sensitive mice is that they are very easily to click accidently, if your finger accidently lightly brushes the button whilst hovering your finger over it. Pretty easy to do. Try holding your finger above your mouse - it aches very quickly. Its comfy resting your finger lightly on the button.

I think he's talking bull then. Define "the average PCW person". The PCs are pretty good, not saying you can't get similar for less but it IS practically a high street store.

It's a matter of "some of the staff are n00b but the vast majority are fine"...
