Speech in webrowser
Hey everyone,
I have seen in W3Schools, that you can now use aural refrencing, when implementing a web site/page.
my question is which browsers support it?
and how can you get it to work?
is it through just all css, so that it reads the whole document, and speeks it out if your speakers are on?
has anyone actually used it?

Re: Speech in webrowser
I think it may have something to do with a feature in xp home that reads whatevers active on your screen. Our cat turned it on the other day by sleeping on a open laptop and was getting web pages read to it

Re: Speech in webrowser
what I mean is code for activating or implementing it into web pages.
if you have an Opera browser preferably 8 as I have got it, go to tools/prefferences/voice (left hand side menu) then enable the voice.
then go here: http://www.opera.com/support/tutorials/voice/
and click the button
this is what Imean.
not something in XP, I want it to do with the browser, for visually impared audiences using unix/linux/mac etc.

Re: Speech in webrowser
thanks atlantis,
I will read this later, but surely there is an easier way by just adding code to web pages that some certain browser, like opera can do this without the need for a third party software.
as this goes against what W3C is about.

Perhaps it's time your cat registered with Cable Forum, then? ;-)
