Samsung Box IR eye
Hi,
Anyone know where abouts on the Samsung box the IR eye is? I've moved the box to the cellar and have stuck an IR extender onto the front but it's a bit of a hit and miss affair as the smoked glass panel is rather large.
Think I've got it sussed, just below the two green LEDs to the left of the channel number, but sometimes it fails.
Anyone help?
Cheers
Mark

Re: Samsung Box IR eye
Ive been having the same problem. I think the eye is at top/left of the panel, but no matter how I place the IR device I cant get it to work. Although the IR sender worked perfectly with my pace box, I cant get it to work on my Samsung STB, even though I am using the same remote control.

Re: Samsung Box IR eye
If you can't see it by shining a torch though, wrap the front of your remote in tinfoil (paper is fairly translucent to IR), and make a very small hole over the emitter. This should then emit a small enough beam to be able to 'find' the receiver with by trial and error.

Re: Samsung Box IR eye
Thanks for the reply folks, I will try as follows;
1) Torch
2) Circuit Board piccy, should be able to work out what is where
3) Then the tin foil.
I'll take a piccy of where it is when found and post it.

Re: Samsung Box IR eye
I've got the IR exetender working OK. Not had a chance to check out the true position of the IR receiver, but I have it placed pretty much close to where marky says it is.
I have it placed to the right of the card and just below the green leds and it works 95% of the time.
I'll move it up a bit tonight and run the tests and report back tommorrow.
