Re: ipod configuration help!

its not that that is the problem, the itunes is fine, but there is no ipod showingin it, it won't configure so there is nothing to drag onto!

Re: ipod configuration help!

do you definately have USB 2 ports, as IIRC the ipod will display similar syptoms to those that you have described if it is connected to a port that is only USB 1.0 or 1.1

Re: ipod configuration help!

I had the same problem - in spite of what Apple says, USB is badly implemented on iPod colour. If you have a firewire port, try that - I had no trouble after using firewire, and there are thousands of postings on the 'iPod' discussion group to support this. If you dont have firewire, get a firewire card and cable - your troubles will be over. Good luck

You tried taking iPod out of hard disk (or into hard disk) mode? Otherwise run iPod updater, this should force the computer to find it (and update the ipod is it is not)

You can get iPod updater from here: http://www.apple.com/uk/ipod/download/
