Vodafone offer to temp people from Virgin.

I have just received a letter from Vodafone.

For those who want high speeds, it says that they will pay up to £100 for those still in contract with Virgin.

They are offering 910 Mbps for £28 a month as opposed to the Virgin price of £34 for only 516 Mbps.

It's easy to switch as they use something called 'One Touch Switch'.

I checked their site just now and 910 Mbps was £36 per month.

Just checked and the letter definitely says it's £28 a month, it doesn't say that this is a promotional or personal offer either.

If you're interested in moving to them they have given this freephone number 0808 0044 910 so that you can double check.

There are several companies that have signed up to this. I just linked the VM page as an explanation of how it works.

Re: Vodafone offer to temp people from Virgin.

We moved to Vodafone from Sky and haven't looked back. We're on the Openreach network. We pay a bit more for the 6E router with 4G backup but they throw in additional WiFi boosters if you need them. We get >900 Mpbs on WiFi around the house and even get approx 400 Mbps at the bottom of the garden.

The limited dealing with customer services has been first rate, so would recommend giving them serious consideration if thinking of changing supplier.

Re: Vodafone offer to temp people from Virgin.

The installer for my BRSK broadband was telling me that most of their new customers are coming across from Virgin. Openreach is a waste of time where I live so its the first time VM have had competition.

Sorry being really stupid, not planning to do this, however as I do NOT physically have an open reach line. How would it work . Likewise if you don't have virgin fibre connection, how would that work ?

Then an engineer would come out to install one.

I was once with VM but moved to Vodafone because VF were cheaper and I got a symmetrical 940MB 24/7. However, I left VF after a few years because I got tired of them forever switching my BNG, sometimes as far away as Edinburgh from Birmingham, with up to 45ms latency.

I am now with Fusion Fibre (Cadence Networks) who use City Fibre's local and national networks. (Symmetrical 940Mb, latency 5-8ms, IPV6 and Static IP, £34.98). After 18 months, unlike VF and VM, I have had no outages.
