Goodbye to a trailblazer. So many women gained so much due to her going first.

Re: RIP Annie Nightingale

Absolutely Maggie, and for years she was the only female presenter at Radio 1.

My main memory of her was that she followed the Top 40 show and she used to say 'hi' at some point during the first record. I seem to recall that, apart from that, she never talked over any record that she played due to the respect she had for the music she was playing.

I seem also to recall that during the 1FM period of the early 1990s, she used to introduce herself as "Annie N on 1FM."
