Ultimate Volt Bundle
Sorry, wrong section.I meant to put it in the Virginmedia TV Service.
I am thinking of taking advantage of this deal that came via email today. For only a few pounds more per month on what I'm paying now, I will get a lot of extra goodies. The only thing that may stop me is that it includes getting the 360 TV box which I don't won't,unless someone can tell me it's the bees knees.Has anyone taken this deal and kept their old box? Thanks.

Re: Ultimate Volt Bundle
You can't keep your old box with this offer. Unless you really need some of the TiVo unique features, go for it.

Re: Ultimate Volt Bundle
Thanks, 1701-e. Am I right in saying you can't transfer your series links? What, if anything, will I gain, and lose?

Re: Ultimate Volt Bundle
You lose all your recordings. I took a photo of my series links for records. You can set new ones for any that are currently broadcasting. The interface is vastly superior and blends the online and broadcast elements. Voice control is handy especially for skipping adverts. You'd be best reading the guides available and make your own judgements.
Some of the cons.... No recovery of deleted items.... The visible series links list if that's important to you.... No automatic recording if shows move channel.... though how often does that really happen....

Re: Ultimate Volt Bundle
Thanks very much for your input,1701-e. I will check it out,but as I said,it is just too good to turn down.I think I can live re-doing the series links.

You can keep the TiVo, argue with them and you'll get to keep it or email the CEO and they'll sort it out for you. They know the 360 isn't all it's cracked up to be and you'll deal with someone based in glasgow

Re: Ultimate Volt Bundle
You definitely can keep the TiVo V6 if that is what you have - I am on Ultimate Volt and have the V6. Be careful to clearly state that and put it in writing ideally - officially you can't migrate back (you actually can but takes effort/escalation.) TV packages do not required a specific box.
Some people like the TV360, others don't. If you use the more advanced TiVo features / series link functionality then you'll be in for a shock. Worth doing some reading of the pros/cons. I 'upgraded' (already had Ultimate Volt) and personally found it frustrating missing those TiVo features so had it changed back. Had been told by the support team that all those features existed!

Re: Ultimate Volt Bundle
Thanks, Frazz and David. I will do some more research.
One last question. Is it possible to replace the old screw in cable connector to the hub with the push in one?It would be a bugger to redo the cabling as it is a lengthy piece.

I assume you're using the original TiVo if your cable is a screw in?
You get a short adapter lead that converts the screw in to a push fit, no need to run new cables

Re: Ultimate Volt Bundle
If you really do mean the hub, they still have a screw-on connector

Thanks,that is great news.
Tried to order the Ultimate Volt package, but because I have an engineer visit booked in to sort out my landline conversion to fibre,it will have to wait until that is sorted.

All hubs (3/4/5) have the same connector except for Hub 5x but that one is for fibre connections not for co-ax.

The self-install cables have a push-on connector which fits onto the screw threads, so you are kind-of right
