Star Trek: Section 31
Hey Trekkers,
Anyone seen Section 31 on paramount with Michelle Yeoh reprising Phillipa Georgiou!
Just seen it myself, not watched it but will do.

Re: TV Show Snippets & General Information
Yeah I mean it was ok. Watchable and not absolutely terrible.

Re: Star Trek: Section 31
I watched it on Saturday night. I enjoyed it well enough, but it really wasn’t very Star Trek at all. It wanted to be a mix of Guardians of the Galaxy and Star Wars. You could hear the dialogue and the score fighting over it and never quite getting there. There was far too much setting up and sketching out characters for a standalone film. I suspect some of that script had been there from the earliest drafts when they wanted to make a series and the writers strike prevented them polishing it as much as they otherwise might have done once it was converted into a standalone film.
And as for the continuity … a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. If you recognise Mirror Georgiou and Rachel Garrett, and you know their first appearances in the timeline are about a century apart, then it gets quite confusing when Garrett shows up with the S31 team assigned to re-recruit Georgiou. Even if you remember that Georgiou got a free ride back from Discovery in the 3rd millennium to somewhere close to her own time, it’s awfully convenient that here she is within the lifetime of a Trek character it just so happens that fans have been hoping to learn more about.
Actually Rachel Garrett was one of the best things about this and I wish they’d commission a series just because she’s in it. This is the first time Trek has explored the 70-odd years between TOS and TNG, which was nice.

Re: Star Trek: Section 31
I thought it was a pretty poor effort myself
