Is This a TiVo Bug?

TiVo has a nasty habit of failing to record the final episode of a series link. This has happened to me frequently and on both my TiVos. It is extremely annoying as I prefer to record an entire series and watch the episodes back to back. If I've delayed viewing for too long it's no longer available on Catch Up so it's impossible to plug the gap.

The latest is a failure to record the final episode of The Level on ITV. Looking in recording hiccups it states that there was No Signal when clearly there was. It was the only programme set to record at that time and there were no overlap clashes.

Maybe it's a TiVo bug as it's invariably the final episode of a series and it happens often enough not to be merely bad luck. Has anyone else suffered the same problem?

Have a look at the series link settings and check how many episodes it is set to keep. If you have it setr to 5 recordings for example and have them set to be kept until you delete them then it would only record the first five episodes of a show.

Series link was set to record 25 episodes and to record unless space is needed. As this TiVo is only 20% full I would have expected the episode to record. The series link is also set to record in HD if possible which means that if for some reason it was impossible to record on ITV HD the much vaunted TiVo AI should have identified ITV SD and ITV+1 as alternatives and recorded one of those. As I said, this is not the first time it's happened which prompted my question about it being a possible bug.

Re: Is This a TiVo Bug?

There have been various annoying bugs reported since the last update (as well as the speed issue).

Unfortunately, this is probably another manifestation.

Re: Is This a TiVo Bug?

It rebooted itself whilst I was watching the Andrew Marr Show.

When it had settled down, it had deleted it by itself!

Fortunately, I was able to recover it from the deleted folder.
