How does the TiVo check for repeat showings?
AIUI, the TiVo won't record anything again that it's recorded within the last four weeks.
Does it do this by cross referencing with the recorded and deleted items folder?
Is there any reason that it has to only go back four weeks, as the deleted items folder often has material going back further than that.
It would be useful if it could keep a record of everything that it's ever recorded, or let users mark a programme as not to be recorded again as I'm finding, especially with films, that I'm recording material that I've already seen.
This would cut down on duplicate recordings, although improving the meta data would be desirable too to prevent this happening.
