Set top Boxes
Hi,
I am new to the forum and wonder if anyone can help me.
I am wondering how many set top boxes I can have in my house with out the fibre signal being affected??

pretty sure the account limit is 6, but technically with hdu's fitted you could have more

basically, a hdu is a powered splitter a brief explanation...
A splitter reduces the signal level by a few db depending on how many splits, so a 2-way is rounghly 3.5 - 4db loss, 3-way is 6db loss etc...
A HDU is a powered splitter as in the signal going in is the same as coming out but over 4 connections i.e. no loss
So technically fit a ton of HDU's and you could have as many boxes as you like, but AFAIK the account system only supports 6, i may be wrong though but that is the max i have ever installed in one visit.
Hopefully that makes sense...

You're best phoning up Virgin and asking them directly if they can accommodate whatever your requirements are.
