Brighton over utilisation vm 20

I am in the VM 20 area of brighton and have had nothing but problems with my internet for coming up a year virgin, dont do anything about it just keep saying over utilisation for the area. And keep pushing the dates back which is now july. Is anyone else struggling with getting a workable speed from them? a good day would be 15mb but usually i am getting 1-5mb frequent periods of no connection. I should be getting 150mb Am pulling my hair out any help and advice would be great thanks

Go elsewhere. That's the best advice if it's been this long.

There is always an elsewhere. It's just that the elsewhere may not be what you require.

That's a rarity, especially in places like Brighton.

Re: Brighton over utilisation vm 20

going else where is not an option. Have already been told by other companies that it will be 118 to get a phone line installed 36 for activation and then 46 a month for the broadband and 16 for a phone line and then after al this the speeds would only be up to 48mb. So costs are more than doubled by going else where.

Agreed but we live in the centre of a small/medium sized city and we can't get FTTC ... just saying it can happen

Then there is no advice and no real help if you are unable to find an alternative option and are unwilling to accept a reduction in the maximum speed.

VM will resolve the issues in their own time.

There is absolutely nothing you can do on your side to improve your experience unfortunately. Entirely down to them.

I'd take Igni's advice. It took 4 years for VM to fix our segment's utilisation problem ..

Re: Brighton over utilisation vm 20

It's not a general issue with area 20.

That's why quoting an area number is misinformative. People don't realise what area numbers refer to which is not exactly where you live.

Area 20 is vast as are the other area numbers as they hark back to the old billing days of NTL, Telewest, etc. So in todays terms area numbers mean absolutely nothing.

The OP has a utilisation issue on his segment of the network.

The OP has a utilisation issue on his segment of the network. It has nothing to do with the "Area" he is in.

To the OP.

I think you overvaluing the maximum speed vs sustainable speeds.

48mbit 24/7 is better than what you have now unless of course you never use the connection during busy periods.
