Am i paying too much £73 per month

Hi all

Most of the time i am happy with virgin media, but looking through this forum and at the virgin media packages i feel i might need a change

I have tv xl but only a basic hd box no tvo
phone with caller display and pay a fee for any call lengths, but i might change that as i don't use the land line as much as i used to.
And 70meg BB

Advice please

Re: Am i paying too much £73 per month

I think paying for tv is a waste of money.

I watch freesat with a humax box and I prefer it over tivo. It's faster and has better catchup tv.

I'm paying £30 per month for 38meg bt infinity with 10meg upload. Got £100 quidco and £100 Sainsburys voucher so effectively paid £200 for a year or under £20 per month

Re: Am i paying too much £73 per month

Looking at the bundle builder on Virgin you could get the same as what you have but with 100mb internet and replace the standar box for a TiVo for £75 a month (plus instalation costs if any). If you drop the phone down to Talk Weekends it would be £67 per month.

Also the 100mb internet is going to be increased to 150 in the near future.

You could also save by paying your line rental in advance.

Most packages actually come down in price if you move up the the 100/150mb internet. Have a play around with the bundle builder once you know which tv package you want.

Curious, how are you watching BBC HD, ITV HD, etc. live?

Who say's he's watching anyting live? If he watches what he wants when he wants it's unlikely to be live. Minimum 5 second delay.

I took this as he can watch anything which includes live tv. I wasn't sure how you can watch *anything* via streaming hence the question

I can see that being the way forward. In 10 years times we'll all have 1gbit+ and I honestly don't see normal broadcast tv being around. I think everything will be streamed on demand and we will probably all be voice activated/controlled as well so we won't need remotes. (Samsung brought it out last year)

Already have voice activated channel changing via the Xbox One, it does work well but i would much rather use a remote than shout across the room which channel i want.
