No Option to add

Ive just logged into my virgin media, i currently have Samsung V+ box, and wouldn't change it, i was wondering about adding an extra box for the spare bedroom, it doesn't give me an option to add a V HD box, only a TiVo.. i don't want the TiVo, can i not just add V HD, i used to have one and the connection is still there.

Re: No Option to add

You'll need to call in to see if it's still possible.

Since the end of last year all core bundle changes now require existing customers to have a TiVo box, as after many years of voluntary upgrades to TiVo, there is now the start of more aggressive changeover.

So it may still be possible to do, but most of the automated upgrade options will now only offer TiVo.

Re: No Option to add

Not when you add in the £49 installation and £49 upfront payment, there is no way I would pay it.

Re: No Option to add

A 500GB TiVo has no upfront payment when installed by itself, it's the 1TB TiVo that does.

As you don't have an existing live additional box, both the V HD and TiVo would cost £49 to install.

Although the monthly cost for TiVo is higher at £11.50 a month verses £6.50 a month for a V HD, it's likely that your overall bundle might reduce to wipe that difference out as you'd be able to move to a current deal.

Re: No Option to add

We recently were given a new tivo box 500GB to replace an existing VHD box. We did not request it. VM just offered it. No changes to the bundle or contract length.

They also waived the install fee as it was self install and waived the set up cost too. So saved the £100.

Re: No Option to add

Well I still wouldn't want a STB with a Hard Drive in it in a bed room.
