Regulating power to hub
I have some sort of device i dont know what its called that they put in thats replaced the splitter and i was told it would help regulate power levels.
What im curious about is how does it do this? is it constantly regulating or does it just run checks every now and then and changes to whats needed?

I would imagine it's a HDU. It doesn't regulate the power as such, it's basically an amplifier which means you have no loss through the splitter. The older ones used to have have a +1db gain (plus what you would have lost through the split) not sure what the new ones are I've not really played with one.

Ive got a reverse line powered one, its installed in the brown Omni box, with the power injector isolator and power supply installed in under stair cupboard... but for some reason some vm techs are not familiar with HDUs VM use. Was right infront of him, and he started checking over my TV home distribution unit and questioning me on it thinking it was VM equipment.
As mentioned though they are an amplifier so you don't get the same losses you do via splitter.

couldnt do the big 4 box + installs without them in my opinion lol i must fit at least 2 or 3 a week
