New extension

We will soon be building a new extension where the sitting room will move to. Current sitting room will become a playroom.
I will need TiVo installed in new extension and hub relocated in new office.
My question is, do I run a cable while the extension is being built for the Virgin installer to connect to on the outside or let them run the new cables all the way into the new locations. And if I lay cables for them, what do I use?
Thank you.

Re: New extension

either way it will cost you £99 to relocate the equipment, so i would get the installers to do it once everything is ready... or run the cables your self (Tri shielded coax) however you will still be liable for the £99

Re: New extension

When i spoke to Virgin a while ago about something else and i mentioned the extension, they said the reconnection/ move of Tivo would be free, so i will make sure it is that

Re: New extension

Hi there.
if you can pre-wire it will make the move of equipment nice and easy for the Tech, and nice and tidy for you. You'll need to use VM compatible cable.

Re: New extension

I'd turn your Tivo off at the mains, ring faults and tell them its stopped working, they'll send a service engineer out, when he arrives power up the TiVo and then pick his brains about the extension.......that'll save yourself £100.

I'm not joking by the way.....this is what you should do.

Oh dear!

Do you advocate going to A&E inappropriately as well, instead of going to a GP?

I can't believe you'd compare a service tech with a doctor. lol You must be a share holder.

I'm not making such a comparison but am saying that your suggestion is equally selfish and inappropriate.
