quick question!
Does anyone know if it's possible to add sky movies for one month only on Virgin media?
Cheers

Re: Sky Movies
Yes it is.
It used to be that you could cancel with immediate effect after a minimum 30 days but I believe this has either changed or is about to change so that 30 days notice of cancellation is required. Worth checking when you order.

Re: Sky Movies
So basically if you want it for 30 days, do you now just phone up to order it, and once you get the box hit and it's activated, call up to cancel? lol

Bear in mind that any recordings from the Sky Movies channels will be wiped when your subscription lapses.

Re: Sky Movies
Of course, the best approach for Sky Movies is NowTV where a month pass is only £9.99.
The NowTV iPad app now has Chromecast support, meaning you can cast it to your big TV.
Even if you go down the NowTV box route, it can be a cheap way to contract for short periods.

They won't be wiped, but they will become inaccessible. If you subscribe again, you'll be able to watch them again.

It's even cheaper if you sign up for a month's free trial and then cancel it - easily online - you get hit with cheaper deals before you press the final "submit" button.
However, whether it's the "best approach" is really open for debate. I like Now TV, but it can stutter/buffer at times (rare, and you generally get an email with some compensation the next day), and of course you only get 720p hd. Maybe not the best, but certainly the cheapest.

And no 5.1 audio, just stereo.

What display do you get on your AV amp?
This is from the Now TV web site

You're unable to view NOW TV with 5.1 stereo sound.
We're constantly looking into ways to develop our service and the addition of 5.1 stereo is something that we'll consider in the future

My AV receiver displays it has Dolby Pro Logic II , which of course transforms traditional stereo into 5.1 channel surround sound , so no true 5.1 audio.

It does! You have to turn on the setting!

Re: Sky Movies
I already have the setting turned on in my Roku box so the AV Receiver would pick up if the content was in true 5.1 , it picks up Dolby Digital + via Netflix using the Roku.
