Powerline adaptor alternatives?
I have a Tivo box that I want to connect to my router.
The problem is that the router is upstairs, and connected to the power via a AC extension cable. (Moving this is not an option.)
So the powerline adaptor is out.
While in Maplin asking about this the guy mentioned this "Netgear Universal WiFi adaptor."
Has anybody used this, or are there better options?

Re: Powerline adaptor alternatives?
Would powerline adaptors work if all my plug sockets go directly to the main fuse box.

Re: Powerline adaptor alternatives?
I also run my Powerline adapters on extension leads, one is a filtered outlet and they work fine.

Re: Powerline adaptor alternatives?
As long as the circuits are all going back to the same fuse box you should be fine.
As for adaptors on extension leads it shouldn't be an issue, but I avoid using surge protected extensions just in case.

Re: Powerline adaptor alternatives?
I have one of those Netgear jobbies. I bought it to try it out (wouldn't normally touch netgear), but to be fair, it does it's job and does it well. I would buy more if I needed to. I currently use it on the Sky box.
