Hi
I have just bought a new Samsung SMART UE48H5500 TV. On the rear panel there are two RCA connectors labelled "Audio Out". They are coloured red & white.
I want to connect them to my standard amplifier with RCA inputs as I did with my old TV. My amp has no HDMI or optical input. The inputs to the amp are live as checked by swapping them to another device, but no sound comes from the amp from the TV regardless of TV source.
I set my TV audio to output to "Audio Out" from the menus and get no sound.
Can anyone help? What am I missing? Surely "Audio Out" means just that.
Services: Amazon Prime Video & Netflix. Deregistered from my TV licence.

Re: Samsung Smart TV problem
In the sound menu there is a 'speaker settings' tab. In that you can choose from 'tv speakers' or 'external speakers'.
Possibly might be that you have to select the latter to enable the audio out connectors?

All that seems to do on my TV is mute the TV speakers but nothing comes out of the Audio Out connectors.
